‘All About Business

President of Verizon, Jim McCallion (left) pointed to the wealth of  opportunity to do business in the 51st District communities and  discussed recent telecommunications legislation.  Judy Chu, chair of the  Board of Equalization, provided participants with case studies to  illustrate how she and her colleagues adjudicate cases before them. The  event was co-hosted by the Inglewood, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Gardena,  Compton, LAX Coastal and South Bay Association Chambers of Commerce.   Also present were the West Basin Municipal Water District, South Bay  Workforce Investment Board, Los Angeles World Airports, the Department  of General Services, the Department of Corrections, Employment  Development Department, Golden State Water Company, U.S. Small Business  Administration and the California Housing Finance Agency.
