Bishop Smith was still proclaiming the gospel at every opportunity. He served in the ministry for 91 years, training and grooming over 40 pastors, including BTC’s current pastor, Dr. Gentry W. Richardson Sr.
He was a legend in the community and the street corner on 52nd and Wadsworth was named The Bishop William L. Smith Square.
The Church Wake will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at Bethlehem Temple Church, 958 E. 52nd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90011 from 4 – 8 p.m.
The Homecoming Celebration will be at Peace Apostolic Church, 21224 So. Figueroa in Carson, CA. Officiant is the Honorable Dr. Gentry Richardson Sr., pastor; and Bishop Henry L. Johnson, Diocesan of California.
