Los Angeles, CA —  Online public high school Insight School of California-Los Angeles (ISCLA) celebrates the achievements of its 34 graduating seniors on June 11, with a ceremony at the California State University at Fullerton.

The graduation marks ISCLA’s second year of serving students in central and southern California.

The 2009 Insight graduates live in areas that include the Central Valley and span the Southland from Bakersfield to San Bernardino and from Ventura to Anaheim. This widespread student body reflects the growth of online education in the region.

ISCLA is a full-time, diploma-granting, online public high school offering tuition-free education for residents of Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino and Kern counties. It is governed by Portable Practical Educational Preparation, Inc.

As public education in California faces unprecedented challenges due to such factors as state budget cuts being at historic levels, innovative solutions for helping students achieve their goals–and even simply stay in school–have become more important than ever, and Insight is one of the creative ways education is being restructured.

As an online school, the Insight program is delivered consistently, regardless of where each student lives. Insight also brings the school experience to the student, wherever they may be and whenever is most convenient for them via the Internet with a school-provided laptop computer. It offers youngsters a robust academic curriculum, highly personalized support, a wide range of social activities and career development resources.

Insight also focuses on each student’s lifestyle, learning style, interests and needs in order to prepare them to achieve their goals for life after high school. The program teaches skills and provides experiences for the 21st century; skills that are relevant and that students will use after high school, as well as experiences that will prepare them for a global economy.

ISCLA is currently holding a series of information sessions for parents and students to learn about the school’s innovative programs in preparation for fall 2009 applications. Details on locations and times can be found at http://insightca.net/losangeles/info_sessions.asp.
