Community Financial Resource Center (CFRC) operates a number of programs designed to help people interested in creating a food-based business start-up and grow.
These include a micro-loan program that offers individuals up to $2,500 with a 7.5 percent interest rate and no credit check to help start up. The orientations to find out more information are scheduled for Aug. 7 and 21 from 6-7 p.m..
Those with a business plan may be eligible to apply for a loan of up to $5,000.
The loans are coupled with free business counseling and education designed to help entrepreneurs grow and sustain their company as well as a listing in the CFRC small business directory and other opportunities.

Additionally, CFRC will hold an American National Standards Institute-accredited California Food Handlers Card course to help people obtain a food handlers card Aug. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. at their offices. The three-hour class costs $39 payable by check or cash the day of the course. Registration is required and will be closed by Aug. 2.
