In an effort to make cultural arts programs available to its residents, the Carson City Council unanimously approved funding of 11 organizations to provide cultural arts services for the community.

“The city of Carson has always been a place that values culture, art, and history, and we are proud to fund several organizations that will make the arts accessible to Carson residents,” said Mayor Jim Dear.

“The talented members of these organizations are artistically and culturally diverse, which reflects our Carson community. The forthcoming projects include theater, music, dance, history, and cultural awareness and preservation, so there is something for residents of all ages to enjoy,” added Dear.

The Cultural Arts Program is handled by the city of Carson Human Services Division which plans, administers, and coordinates various social services programs for people of all ages and abilities. Under its umbrella, the Human Services Division oversees the early childhood program, the Joseph B. Jr. and Mary Anne O’Neal Stroke Center, special needs, senior recreation, senior assisted living, and the enrichment arts program. It also presents citywide special events and cultural enrichment programs that promote special interest, a variety of fine arts, and educational programs.
