The Marine and Western League titles are up for grabs this Friday, as it all comes down to one game.
In the Marine League, Carson has a chance to be the outright champions, after they knocked off Narbonne 39-35 last week. Some say that it was a shocking upset, but the Marine League always comes down to those two teams and San Pedro, so it is no surprise to see Carson in this position.
For the Colts to win the title, they have to defeat San Pedro on Friday night. If San Pedro wins, there will more than likely be a three-way tie for the league title between the three teams, because Narbonne narrowly defeated San Pedro earlier this year.
In the Western League, Hamilton is looking to shock the City Section. The winner of their matchup with Venice will be crowned league champs. Venice has won the title every year since 2005, and before a few weeks ago, had not lost a league game since 2004.
Hamilton has had their ups and downs over the years, with most seasons seeing them finish with a losing record. There was talk during the offseason that they would field a good team this year, but nobody thought that they could pull off a league title. They are undefeated in league play, and Venice has only one loss.
In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw wrapped it up when they knocked off Dorsey to start league play. Neither has been challenged since then.
