Authorities today identified one of two men killed in a
crash in Newhall that left a third man hospitalized.
The men were riding in a car that crashed into a power pole in the 23200

the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Station.
“For some reason the car veered off the road and slammed into an Edison
pole, “Shoemaker said.
Two men died at the scene, including Noah Murphy, 24, whose home town
was unclear, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The name of the other
fatally injured man was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
