The Holman United Methodist Church “Brother to Brother Ministry” has scheduled a “Men’s Weekend” beginning with a day in the community from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
The event will begin with a 9 a.m. wellness program discussing prostate cancer. After that, a workshop on non-violence will be led by Holman Pastor Emeritus Rev. James Lawson, the famous civil rights leader who in the early 1960s taught the practice of passive resistance to the Freedom Riders. Alex Johnson, managing director of Californians for Safety and Justice, will also speak.
