The Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale, will host on July 14 a One Day Film School from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Taught by Hollywood’s greatest film instructor, Dov Simens, the man credited with launching the film careers of artists like Quentin Tarantino, Will Smith, and Queen Latifah, this one day, two part workshop is geared for ages 17 years and older.
Part one, “Filmmaking A-Z,” will teach the step-by-step process for taking your idea and screenplay from soup-to nuts with shooting, directing, and editing your first feature film. Part two, “Deal Making A-Z,” discusses the proven method to maximize global revenues by attending film festivals, getting an agent, and securing distributors to capitalize on 40+ money making streams, as you go from theatrical box office to DVD sales, cable/TV deals, foreign licensing, and IPTV revenues.
“Have an idea and want to make a Hollywood movie?” asked Annie Pagliaro, Palmdale recreation supervisor. “You can produce, write, or direct a feature film with the information this intensive course delivers.”
