“Homebase,” a group exhibition composed of local artists, will begin on Saturday at Residency Art Gallery, 310 E. Queen St., in Inglewood.

The exhibition will run from June 22 to Aug 10, with an opening reception that will take place this Saturday from 6 – 9 p.m.

The exhibition’s endeavor is to draw attention to stories of Angelenos not seen in everyday media, as well as highlight unnoticed areas in our city. Stories such as community, family, homelessness, and everyday struggles to just exist in a city with one of the largest wealth gaps in the United States. Participating artists were challenged to create works that aesthetically capture narratives, moments, and settings that embody our internal, localized perception of this city that’s loved and called home by many. The exhibition came to completion through Grand Park’s Our L.A. Voices, held in April, in which Residency Art Gallery participated.

The artists featured in this exhibition include Noah Humes, Kathy Foley-Meyer, Ramiro Gomez Jr., Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., Patrick Martinez, Star Montana, Noe Olivas, Devon Tsuno, Raymundo T. Reynoso, and Felix Quintana.
