Homeowners workshop set for African immigrant

African immigrants looking to purchase a home can meet with mortgage lenders and industry experts and learn the tools needed at a workshop resent by Dream to Reality, the Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE) Homeownership Fairs, set for  Aug. 17.

The fair is open to public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Designs Charter School, 2303 Figueroa Way, in Los Angeles.

Attendees will learn about down payment assistance; loan programs, foreclosure prevention programs, optimizing credit scores and making free minor home repairs.

The fairs include plenary sessions covering various homeownership topics. Participants will also have opportunities to visit exhibit booths for resource materials and win raffle prizes.

To date, FACE has helped more than 10,000 homebuyers on their way to realizing their dreams of homeownership, in addition FACE has helped homebuyers with more than $1.7 million in down payment assistance.
