Special trains will be available on Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 21 from LA County Metrolink stations to the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa’s Festival of Lights in Riverside.

Each $7 roundtrip faire for adults allows a maximum of three children under 18 to ride for free. The special Metrolink service will take passengers from LA Union Station to the Riverside-Downtown Station tomorrow and Dec. 21.

A complimentary shuttle provided by the Riverside Transit Agency will take Metrolink passengers from the Riverside-Downtown Station to the Mission Inn and the free Festival of Lights event.

“Entry to the festival is free,” said Metrolink CEO Stephanie Wiggins. “So a family of four, with two children, can take the train to and from the event for less than $15, skipping traffic and parking fees, while fighting climate change.”

The27th Annual Festival of Lights brightens the sky around the Historic Mission Inn and features approximately 4.5 million lights and a fireworks display. There are more than 400 animated figures, including angels, elves and Dickens carolers. The event also features live entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides, food vendors and a visit by Santa Claus.

Additionally, live music and dance will be performed at the University State and Ben Franklin Stage across from Santa’s house, sponsored by the City of Riverside.
