The 24-year-old driver of a GMC Yukon was killed earlier this week in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Littlerock.

The driver was headed east on Pearblossom Highway, west of 96th Street East, at about 2:25 p.m. Monday when he veered to the right, colliding with a temporary concrete wall. The force of the crash sent the SUV careening into a concrete bridge barrier and then it burst into flames, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The man, a resident of Palmdale, died at the scene, the CHP said. His name was initially withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other injuries were reported. The CHP was also exploring the possibility drugs or alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
