CBS’ “The Talk” remains on hiatus status from live shows after the network launched an investigation into comments from panel member Sharon Osbourne were deemed as racist. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the show will eschew live shows as CBS continues to probe the explosive confrontation between Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood that began with a discussion of Piers Morgan’s bitter feud with Meghan Markle and escalated into accusations of racism.

During last Wednesday’s episode, Underwood asked Osbourne about her support of Morgan “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree? Am I saying it right?” Underwood said.

Osbourne apologized for her comments on Thursday, saying, “I am truly sorry. I panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive and allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”

The controversy continued, however, after former “The Talk” co-host Holly Robinson Peete alleged in a tweet Friday that Osbourne had made racist comments about her. “I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too “ghetto” for #theTalk … then I was gone,” Robinson Peete tweeted.

In another article in Black Enterprise, it was said Osbourne’s racism may run deeper. Apparently, she used to refer to form host Julie Chen as “won ton” and slanty eyes.”
