Including a Juneteenth fair
With Juneteenth around the corner, CicLAvia will host its 3rd annual Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair. On Sunday, June 18, from 9 am to 4 pm, CicLAvia will have a car-free open street event starting in South Los Angeles along Vermont Avenue, between Exposition Boulevard to the north and Century Boulevard to the south, for an afternoon of jogging, bicycling, skating, walking and simply spectating along the 6.2-mile route.
The free community event was created to raise awareness of the historical impact of Juneteenth and aims to create a space for redefining what freedom means today. This event includes live performances, food trucks, activities, and access to community and county services and creates a necessary space for celebrating the joy and redefining what freedom means today with empowering discussions, performances, and activities.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell (Second District) will be in attendance in partnering with CicLAvia to improve quality-of-life issues in the community.
“My office is proud to partner with CicLAvia in bringing our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair to the streets of South LA.,” Mitchell said. “We have a shared understanding that Angelenos deserve equitable access to enjoy the streets that make up their neighborhoods and to prosper in their communities.
Mitchell continued: “The ability to safely pedal, skate, or walk your way to a free event packed with entertainment, resources, and access to critical on-site county services - like mental health support, record expungement, and tenant/landlord protections–is how we can uplift the significance of Juneteenth while redefining what freedom means today.”

As we participate together in South LA, at the 46th CicLAvia open streets event, we are reminded that we are connected in more ways than we can count.”
