Toddler found in Larchmont Village

A 24-year-old woman suspected of leaving her toddler unattended in a stroller in Larchmont Village and not returning was arrested today on suspicion of child endangerment.

Responding officers arrived at the 100 block of North Larchmont Boulevard near First Street around 2:50 a.m. Sept. 12 regarding an unattended child, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said a passerby found the toddler sitting in a stroller and grew concerned about the location of the child's parents. Detectives searched the area and were unsuccessful in locating the child's parents.

A preliminary investigation led detectives to recover an ID belonging to the child's mother, police said. Detectives identified the mother as Targie Alexandre.

KTLA 5 reported that the child is a girl who is either 2 or 3 years old.

Police said the child appeared to be in good health but was still taken to a hospital for evaluation. Her father was eventually located, but detectives did not disclose where they found him.

Alexandre was located at her workplace where she was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment. Her bail was set at $105,000.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD Wilshire Division at (213) 473-0476. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477. During non-business hours or weekends, calls should be made to (877) 527-3247.
