Involving big rig truck

A woman behind the wheel of a Honda Civic was killed in a two-vehicle crash with a big rig on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Palmdale.

The woman, a resident of Littlerock, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic southbound, south of 10th Street West, where her car struck the right side guardrail and became disabled within the number three lane of traffic. It was then struck by a southbound 2016 International big rig, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monique Mischeaux.

Paramedics dispatched to the crash scene about 3 a.m. Sept. 10 rushed the woman, the lone occupant inside the car, to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the big rig didn't suffer any injuries.

The CHP urged anyone with any information regarding the crash to call their Antelope Valley area office at (661) 948-8541 or, after business hours, their Los Angeles Traffic Management Center at (323) 259-3200.
