Senior killed in two-vehicle crash

A 73-year-old woman who was a passenger in a Chevrolet sedan and was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a Jeep in Lancaster has been identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The crash occurred about 6:25 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 10th Street West and Avenue L, according to Det. Jorge Diaz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Lancaster station.

The Jeep was going eastbound on Avenue L when it crashed into a sedan that was going southbound on 10th Street West, Diaz said.

Paramedics pronounced the passenger, now identified Gloria Ann Connors, dead at the scene, he said. No other injuries were reported.

“The cause of the crash is still being investigated,'' Diaz said. “Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factor.''
