Oct. 16 through Nov. 10

Winter is approaching, and so is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our fellow residents. The City of Lancaster has announced the winter coat drive. This initiative, in partnership with the Lancaster School District (LSD), aims to bring warmth and comfort to adults and children during the upcoming winter season.

The coat drive officially kicks off on Oct. 16, and donations will be accepted until Nov. 10. We invite every resident of Lancaster to take part in this incredible opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our community.

"We believe in the power of our community to make a difference. As winter approaches, let's come together to bring warmth and comfort to those in need,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Join us in this heartwarming initiative, and together, let's make Lancaster a place where no one goes without a warm coat this winter."

Donating is easy. Simply drop off your gently used adult and children's coats at two convenient locations: City Hall or the Lancaster Community Center (LCC). After collection, all donated coats will undergo professional cleaning courtesy of our partners in this effort at George’s Cleaners. Together, the combined generosity of the community and various partners will help ensure that no one goes without a warm coat this winter.

In addition, the Lancaster School District is hosting a special coat distribution event on Nov. 18. For more information on the coat drive, visit www.cityoflancasterca.gov.
