Lancaster motorcyclist

The Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a traffic crash with a car in Lancaster.

The motorcyclist was identified as Darnell Kina Hines, 45, of Lancaster, according to the agency.

Hines was westbound on Avenue K around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when a woman driving a Mazda sedan eastbound on Avenue K made a northbound turn onto 15th Street East, colliding with his bike and ejecting him from his vehicle, according to Lancaster Sheriff’s Station PIO Detective Ament Ryan.

Paramedics pronounced the Lancaster local dead at the scene, Ryan said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. It has not been determined if speed or impaired driving played a factor in the collision, Ryan said.
