Celebrating those who served

The City of Palmdale, in partnership with AV Boots on the Ground Alliance (AV BOGA), will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m. in Poncitlán Square, 38315 9th St. East. The ceremony is free and open to the public.

The event’s theme is “Thanking Veterans for Helping Fellow Veterans.” The program will recognize individuals and organizations that provide veterans support or are community organizations led by veterans.

“We wish to thank all who served honorably in the military in wartime or peacetime, acknowledge their contributions to our national security, and pay tribute to the millions of patriots whose courage and sacrifice have secured our freedom,” shared Palmdale Mayor Laura Bettencourt. “Our local veterans continue to serve here at home, and we are grateful for their dedication to our residents and each other. God bless our veterans and our military personnel. And God bless America.”

All veterans in attendance will receive a commemorative lapel pin while supplies last, and the community can enjoy Poncitlán Square decorated in patriotic colors.
