Recognizing Rep. Grace Napolitano

Rep. Grace Napolitano (CA-31) is known as a champion for the environment and water recycling. Now the Metropolitan Water District plans to rename the Pure Water Southern California demonstration plant after her.

Napolitano, who is retiring at the end of her term, will be on hand at the ceremony. The plant, located at 24501 S. Figueroa St., in Carson, will be called the Grace F. Napolitano Pure Water Southern California Innovation Center “for her unwavering dedication to water sustainability and reliability for all of Southern California,” according to a statement.

“Throughout her remarkable legislative career, Rep. Napolitano has championed recycled water, building federal support for the water technology and bringing federal funds to projects across the region, as part of her commitment to advancing sustainable water solutions for Southern Californians,” the statement says.
